Royal Arch Masonry
Freemasonry is a progressive science concentrating on our moral and social duties in the materialistic world, each degree building upon the preceding degree. Craft masonry gives a man a series of lessons for life, somewhat in a dramatic form, whereby he can learn to be a better person, morally and socially. Some of these lessons are contained in each degree, and there is another lesson to be found in the Chapter Ceremony. This Ceremony, which takes place in a Holy Royal Arch Chapter, is the completion of the Third Degree and the conclusion of the journey through “Pure Ancient Freemasonry”. Every Master Mason is encouraged to join this Order.
Every Holy Royal Arch Chapter has to be attached to a Craft Lodge and take the same number as that lodge. Most of the members of Minster Lodge eventually become members of Eboracum Holy Royal Arch Chapter which holds its meetings in our Masonic Hall at St. Saviourgate. It has to be said however that there are many such Chapters in our Province and you are welcome to join any one of these.
There is much to learn about the ceremonies of the Holy Royal Arch which are most colourful, thought provoking and uplifting. Joining the order is the next step for every Master Mason and the members of your lodge will be only too delighted to discuss the matter further with you and answer any questions you may have, address any concerns and would continue to help you after you have joined.
