Freemasonry is the second largest charitable organisation in the country, second only to the National Lottery.
We are taught to practise charity and to care, not only for our own but also for the community as a whole, both by charitable giving and by voluntary efforts as individuals.
You will find all the charitable information on the Freemasons’ Grand Charity Website http://www.ugle.org.uk/ including the Masonic Charitable Foundation Newly formed in 2016.
Please note: Your Lodge Almoner and the Provincial Grand Charity Almoner are always available to help provide assistance should you require it.
Non-Masonic charitable giving is exercised at every level within our organisation. Since 1981 more than 30 million pounds has been given to non-Masonic Charitable causes.
Minster Lodge continues to help the Provincial Grand Charity meet it’s Festival target
At the Installation meeting in February 2017 the newly Installed Worshipful Master of Minster Lodge no 4663, W. Bro. Martin Smith, was delighted to inform the Representative of the R.W. Provincial Grand Master, W. Bro Andrew Calvert, that a donation of £200 had been made to the Masonic Samaritan Fund Festival 2018 to mark the occasion of his visit to the lodge.
Bro. Andrew thanked the Worshipful Master and brethren for this Donation and went on to congratulated the lodge for the tremendous effort they had already made raising over £28,400 to the Festival Fund and receiving ‘Grand Patron’ status.
The Lodge was delighted to have so many visiting Worshipful Masters and other guests from both our own Province and Sister Provinces. The evening was a great success and one to be remembered by all who attended especially the Worshipful Master.
